The Criminal Law – also known as the Penal Law – is the guidelines or body of statutes that is used when deciding on punishments for different legal offenses. In the USA each state is different when it comes to punishment and each has been set up by Congress and passed into legislation. After they have been agreed upon they are than enforced by the Federal Statues.
