In order to build up a good case lawyers must find evidence and witnesses. Because they are so busy working on how best to plead their case they often use legal investigators to do all of their dirty work. Legal investigators work for law firms and their respective lawyers by interviewing the relevant people, find important witnesses, give documents (such as subpoenas) to people, gather and review any evidence that they have found. Because they have such an important role to the case they are sometimes asked to testify on what they have uncovered. These investigators will find themselves working both in and out of the office a lot. They will do all of their reviewing of documents and evidence in the secure area of the law firm that they work for. But in order to interview people and gather evidence they must go to the relevant places, which means that they will sometimes be forced to work after hours in order to meet with the important potential witnesses. |
